Hi, everyone! Welcome to CALL link!
I am Heekyung Lim from Korea. I’m married and have an incredibly energetic son, Jooheon, who just turned to 8 last April. I came to Vermont on December 31st, 2010 with my son for my MATESOL study.
It is my second visit and life in Vermont. I attended MATESOL at SMC from January to August in 1999 right after finishing TESOL certificate course at Sookmyung Women’s university in Korea. I didn’t finish my degree at that time, so I came back.
From September, 1999, I started teaching English to young learners aged from 4 to 14. I taught English based on many different approaches and theories according to the principles of private English institutes I worked for in Korea. I enjoyed teaching young learners but I’d like to extend my teaching group to young adults when I finish my degree.
I lived in Lisbon, Portugal, London, England, and Cebu, Philippines for about 6 months to a year in each country. If time and money allows, I would like to go and live in other countries, and learn their culture including languages, too.
I have three wishes at the moment.
My son, Jooheon stays healthy and happy.
My course work at Saint Michael’s College goes well.
My teaching skills including English improve and get strengthen through my course work and being in the States.
